Midwest VMX; the way MX is supposed to be.
Midwest VMX holds sanctioned vintage motocross events around the region to celebrate both our old motorcycles, and newer ones as well. Racing with us is some of the most satisfying competition you will find - the people, machines and venues are truly outstanding. We offer classes for motorcycles from the 1960s through today's technical marvels - and everything in between. If you're considering joining us you will need to join the AMA, which you can do at your first event or online at www.ama-cycle.org. If you're a modern Vet racer - and you're tired of the District scene with big jumps and big mouths - this is where you need to be. You can go back. And we're here waiting for you!

Chris Horn, is this heaven? No, it's Sully, IA! Set against a beautiful "Grant Wood" like Iowa backdrop of plush rolling hills, Sully is what vintage moto is all about. The track is fast, well groomed and tailor made for vintage racing. Don't miss our race on May 10, 2008.

The Hixton, WI date for 7/12-7/13 is now final. Our MX is slated for the 12th, and we will be a part of the D-16 H/S on the 13th, as well. For those of you looking to try your hand at a H/S - or for those of you that are looking to round-out the weekend to get the most bang for your fuel buck - plan on this event. (It's one of my favorite H/S venues.) All of this will be in conjunction with a two-day hillclimb, and the Hixton folk want to add a Vintage class for both days of the climb. If you've ever wanted to run your bike up a hill for an elapsed time - here's your chance!
The Operations Committee met on December 2nd and discussed a number of items. The main items included the 2008 schedule; a new class structure; and a membership fee. Basic rules are posted here.
The '08 schedule is underway with about half of the events confirmed. (More later.) The season opener will be January 26th at WIR Raceway in Waterman, IL. A new class structure was also adopted. The changes were done to increase the gates, make us more attractive to the Vet and Senior racer, and to make a seamless transition from the oldest bikes to the newest. And finally, a $10 membership fee was voted in to help us offset costs. The membership fee is payable at the first event or each season - but we are waiving it for the Waterman event in order to keep the costs of racing indoors at a manageable level.
Also new for 2008 is the ability to review & print your own entry form...Click here!
A word about the website: The site is currently under construction. I know that there are several links that are either broken, or that take you to somewhere not listed...many point to destinations on our old site. Please be patient as the site evolves.
